Engelhard Forms Alliance
With Nippon Sheet Glass
l Engelhard Corp. has formed an alliance with Nippon Sheet and Glass to develop and market new special effect pigments for makers of coatings, inks and plastics.
The two companies are developing new metal-oxide-coating technologies based on a unique substrate that will enable a range of striking appearance characteristics, according to the company. The alliance will also extend each company’s market reach globally and accelerate product development.
“This alliance will enable Engelhard to bring our customers unique effects that lend market appeal to their products,” said Stephen D. Lux, Engelhard’s group vice president and general manager, appearance and performance technologies.
